National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) exists on campus to recognize the outstanding contributions of our resident students, staff, and faculty. The four pillars of NRHH are leadership, recognition, scholastics, and service. Members of NRHH are student leaders living on campus with strong academic records who strive to serve their communities.

One of the main ways by which NRHH recognizes those around us is through Of The Month Awards, or OTMS. These awards are written by students and staff who see outstanding effort or results around campus. Fairfield University’s NRHH recognizes 5 different categories of OTM awards: Program of the Month, First Year Student of the Month, Adviser of the Month, Organization of the Month, and Resident Adviser of the Month.

If you are interested in submitting an OTM nomination, please follow the link below to access the online form. Please know that a well written OTM should be approximately 600 words (but no more… that’s about 3-4 paragraphs) and should give a detailed explanation of the great work that your nominee has done over the course of the month.

The winning nominee wins a $25 gift certificate, and the winning nominator wins a $5 gift certificate.

The Symbol of NRHH

The symbol for NRHH is that of a diamond surrounding the letters of the organization, and the three interconnected lines, the chain of leadership. The diamond, the world's most precious gem, signifies the value and beauty one finds in the residence halls experience.

The first link of the chain represents caring. Leaders are people who care. They are concerned about themselves and others, and are committed to making things better.

The second link signifies dedication. Part of a leader's commitment is the dedication to cause which they display. Dedication is an important part of the involvement required to be truly effective.

The third link represents participation. True leaders participate fully in their academic pursuits, their friendships, their activities, and their lives. Leaders don't sit on the sidelines, but are competent team players.

Together the unbroken chain symbolizes the membership of NRHH. As leaders we are interconnected as caring and dedicated participants in the community of your university.
